The premier awards-giving body for Filipino youth organizations, Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations Awards Foundation, Inc. in partnership with the Office of Senator Bam Aquino and the National Youth Commission, with Search Presenter Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, will launch another round of the Search for the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations on April 15, 2016.
Last year, the Search has found passionate youth groups that tried to bridge the gap in education by different unconventional solutions; youth groups that provided innovative measures to address the consequences of climate change; youth groups that reminded everyone that in order to build a healthier Philippines, no one should be left behind; youth groups that sparked hope to community members who seem to have lost the desire to dream by providing opportunities to earn a living; and, youth groups that demonstrated the very essence of bayanihan. This year, on its fourteenth year, the Search continues to look for youth organizations who have been doing novel projects, programs, and activities that try to make meaningful changes in their communities.
The Search is now open to all youth groups, barkadas, orgs, and societies that have at least 5 members who are thirty years old. Youth groups can submit project entries according to the five categories that the Search introduced last year. The project entries should focus on one of the following categories: (1) Education and Technology, (2) Culture and the Arts, Peace, and Human Development, (3) Environment, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Climate Change Adaptation, (4) Livelihood and Entrepreneurship, and (5) Health, Nutrition, and Well-being. Youth groups will be judged based on their listed category up to the national finals. The four best organizations in each category, regardless of which area they belong to, will be invited to the TAYO week. An organization can submit multiple entries to different categories provided that the projects are different. Entries will be evaluated using the following general criteria: (1) Impact of the Project Entry to Stakeholders; (2) Harnessing the Spirit of Volunteerism and Citizenship; (3) Creativity and Innovation; (4) Sustainability; and, (5) Effective Use of Resources.
After the rigorous screening process, the top 20 youth organizations will be invited to the TAYO week for a series of team building activities, inspirational talks, media visits, workshops, and the like. They will also have the chance to present their projects to well-known experts in the field of education, technology, health, culture and the arts, media, environment, and entrepreneurship. The finalists will also have the opportunity to show their projects to the world through the publication of the TAYO videos.
Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc., the Search Presenter, grants Php 50,000 to the ten winning organizations and Php 25,000 is granted to the other organizations that make it to the National Finals. Apart from the prestigious recognition, the winning organizations receive an especially commissioned trophy sculpted by Mr. Toym De Leon Imao. They will also get a chance to receive gadgets and special awards from various sponsors of the Search
